FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER TIDE. IN CYCLE A READINGS + 20th April 2008. 150th anniversary of the appearances of the BVM in Lourdes.
MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH PRIEST
Bidding Prayers for 5th Sunday of Eastertide 2008.
Priest: O Lord and Heavenly Father, of our Lord Jesus Christ, we come to you in the name of your Holy Son who the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Reader: For the success of Pope's Benedict's Pastoral visit to the United States of America - that through the modern voice of Peter many might return to the ways of Justice, love and peace. Lord hear us.
For all those who are dying and may be afraid - that our Lord's words today may give them great confidence that he will return to accompany us to the place he has prepared for us in heaven. Lord hear us.
To see Jesus is to see the Father- may the Lord grant us purity of heart so that we may truly see the Father and understand the gifts that Christ Jesus has won for us through the Paschal Mysteries - we pray for a greater spiritual maturity. Lord hear us.
For all the nations who are in turmoil and difficulty for Darfur, for Zimbabwe for Iraq and especially for our fellow Catholics in that Country - for all whom God has created and who experience war and strife - give peace to our times O Lord. Lord hear us.
For the members of the Armed Forces who are from our parish - that they may return home safely. Lord hear us.
We commend to the mercy of God all our dear sick who have sought our prayers: Fr. Keane, Monsignor Michael Quinlan, Kevin Devanney, Sheila Devanney, Betty Wallace, Kevin McNulty, Patrick Creamer, Vincent Corley, John Francis Walsh, Paschal Fagan, Stephen Sharples. Lord hear us.
We pray for all who have died recently that they may see God's Holy Face and Live in love in his Presence: John Joseph Mitchell, Annie Naughton, Remo Neiri, Rosina Pini and Gerard McConville AND For all those souls whose anniversaries fall about this time: Rosaleen Condon (Months Mind) VIGIL, Thomas Connolly Senior, John Campbell, Cath Hillis, Malachy Mullen (Months Mind).
May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace Amen.
O Mary Conceived without Sin / Response/ PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE...
