FOURTH SUNDAY OF THE YEAR C + YEAR OF FAITH 31st JANUARY 2016.

MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH PRIEST.

My Dear People,

Well – we all heard last week our Lord making a big impression at the Nazareth synagogue. He sat down having read the prophesy concerning the Messiah and then he opened his mouth and began to speak.

Wait for it – the crowd did not warm to what he said and they rose up in a foul rage and bundled him out and tried to throw him down a cliff. In other words – they hated him – our Saviour.

His Church is being treated like that now by those who hate us. The rich and powerful gay lobby and the feminists see the Catholic Church (and some other faiths) as the last bastion of prejudice or discrimination against them. They cannot ever understand that anyone in their right mind would ever think that the moral agenda they have is not the total truth which everyone must be forced to believe in like Smoking is Bad for your Health. We are not homophobic - we believe in the Commandments and one is not free to choose your own morality or make up a new moral law contrary to God. It is like saying murder is ok. But of course there are some who want it to be ok if you call it "Mercy Killing" eh?

They wish to enact this new Marriage law that we must teach our children and youth even in Faith schools that such things are perfectly normal and must be accepted as equal to marriage etc. This will be included in the legal syllabus for our schools – laid down by Law I tell you. The Minister of Education has stated that although he would want to protect religious schools from having to teach this as Normal, the European Court of Human Rights might over-rule and then we are in a terrible position. The teacher will be expected to get the pupils to talk about gender stereotyping – you get the meaning?

Seemingly this is all agreed to be agreed, now the same sex Marriages Law is now on the Statute Book. Religious faith will be of no consequence. Our children will be forcibly indoctrinated by the false ideology of those who rule us. Even Elton John said he felt sorry for his surrogate baby because it will know its mammy.

But the real problem is the deep and angry rejection of the rights of the Believer to bring their children up in the Faith and the Moral teaching of Christ and his Holy Church. They fly in the face of us. Having forbidden us to have our children adopted by Male and Female couples or Single folk only – they now move in to eradicate fundamental Christian teaching on Male and Female, Fertility and Chastity, Self Control and mutual Respect. We are expected (the cheek) to teach their new Morality – utterly untested and against the 10 Commandments and the Teaching of the Catholic Church. They would not leave Jesus alone and they will not leave us. They want to throw us of a cliff to silence us so that we will be prosecuted for being bigots if we don’t go along with them.

It is a sad time for our country and pray my dear people that this rot which is being operated against our Christian Culture will be defeated ONE DAY.

Do not be deceived – Jesus Christ is hated by these people. Judgement will come upon them one day. They say that Marriage is such a good thing they want everyone to have it. By saying that they show their ignorance and stupidity. Because Marriage is indeed a great "Good" given by the creator – it is a great good because of the way we are designed- male and female for each other and for the procreation of our race. That is what Marriage is - you cannot give it to another use and call it Marriage.

Good news – many couples begin the Deanery wide Marriage Course next Sunday at 3pm in the Marian Room of our Social Club. It will continue for the rest of the month. Say a little prayer for them won't you? That can only be GOOD NEWS eh?

God Bless,

Father Tom Connolly

PASTORAL LETTER FROM THE BISHOP THIS WEEK TO BE READ AT ALL MASSES. COPIES WILL BE AT THE BACK OF CHURCH. PRAY THAT WE WILL BE LEFT INTACT THROUGHOUT THESE POSSIBLE CHANGES AND MERGERS. IT IS ALL VERY WORRYING ISN'T IT?
