Stations of the Cross
The stations of the cross is a meditation on the suffering or 'Passion' of Christ during his trial and crucifixion. The meditation, also known by its Latin title of Via Crucis has its origins in Jerusalem, where pilgrims retraced the route of Christ as he carried his cross to the site of his crucifixion (known as the via dolorosa or 'Way of Sorrows').

Opening Prayer
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell. But most of all, because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and all deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy Grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.
Amen.

Prayer after completing the stations
Jesus, you became an example of humility, obedience and patience, and preceded me on the way of life bearing your cross. Grant that, inflamed with your love, I might cheerfully take upon myself the sweet yoke of your gospel together with the mortification of the cross and follow you as a true disciple so that I might be united with you in heaven.
Amen.
