Serving in love

Work in Christ's vineyard, gifts to missions, charities dispensed to the poor, money given to good causes, ministries among the sick and needy - these things please Christ only when there in them love for him, when they are truly for him, in his name.

We need to look honestly in our hearts while we crowd our days with Christian activity, to know what the spirit is which prompts it all. "Lovest thou ME ?", is the master's question as each piece of service is rendered, as each piece of work is rendered, as each piece of service is done. There is no other true motive.
